 2.  Join Team Zoe.  Team Zoe is in Houston, Seattle, Austin, and San Antonio.   If you'd like to host a team in your city and form a walk team, please send an email to debuma@earthlink.net.  We really would like to get involved with schools to teach kids that they really can make a difference.   When people one day ask "what's cancer?" then we know our work is done.  Until then, it is our mission to help find a cure.

3.  Spread the Word.  We understand that people have different charities that they support.  We know that sometimes budgets are tight.  But we also know the power of the internet to help spread the word.  If you have a regular e-mailing or mailing list of friends, send out a link about Team Zoe.

4.  Become a Team Sponsor or a Link Sponsor.  We have several commitments from some awesome companies.  They have become our official Team Zoe Team Sponsors.  We've also got an incentive sponsor for a link on our site for a minimum donation of $25 or an in-trade contribution.  If you are interested, please contact us at debuma@earthlink.net.

5.  Donate Blood.  If you are eligible to donate blood, please give.  If you aren't eligible, please find one person who is and convince them to donate blood.  When Zoe's mom was going through her treatment, she had over 20 blood transfusions and about 13 platelet transfusions.   These many transfusions literally saved her life.  Cancer hospitals generally have blood shortages, so please donate if you can.

6.  Sign Up on the Bone Marrow Donor List.  Zoe's mom had a bone marrow (aka stem cell) transplant.  Her brother James was her donor.  According to the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center,

There is only a 30% chance of finding a match within the patient's family.  Human Leukocyte Antigens (HLA) are inherited, much like skin, eyes, and hair color, and a match is most likely within the patients' own ethnic group. Each year thousands of racial minorities die from leukemia and other blood diseases because of the low number of minority donor volunteers registered with the NMDP.

We appreciate your support.   Whatever that might be.
